Polarity

I call this one 'Polarity' because she is inspired by the qigong exercise of holding palms facing each other and feeling the energy flow between them - balancing the yin and yang. She is listed in my Etsy shop.

She is the first large sculpture that I have done to hang on the wall. Just giving folks options! I spun and felted the wool myself, except for the yarn I used to embroider. I dyed that one with various brown shades. It is Cotton Comfort from one of my favorite sources, a co-op in Vermont called Green Mountain Spinnery.

We have also been busy enjoying the unseasonably mild weather in our yard. I got the idea to bring my little girl's play kitchen out into the open air from this link on Pinterest. The novelty of actually pouring and mixing 'real' ingredients made for hours of fun.

I was actually tempted to eat this soup because it was made with herbs that smelled great, but I knew better because I saw the grass and stones go in, too =)
